Snakes!

Veronica worked very hard on a project about snakes. She researched and wrote a non-fiction book about the habitat, food, characteristics, etc. of snakes...all in Spanish! Her book comes complete with Table of Contents, original art work and a bibliography. Here she is shown reading her book to a captive audience. She also made a diarama of a snake habitat. Good job, Veronica!

Train Ride on Mother's Day

We rode a vintage train from Osceola to Marine on St. Croix.

Emma, Veronica and Elle ride the train as we go over the St. Croix River

Fun with cousins and stuffed animals.

Sarah and girls venture to the back of the train to ride in the caboose.

Bathroom Update

Here are some pictures that show progress. Sorry I haven't been good about keeping up with it.

Oops. Blogger won't let me upload more pictures. I don't know why.

Memorial Day Traffic

Whew! We're home. When we got to Little Falls the traffic was backed up to a 20 mph crawl all the way to Royalton. It looked like it wasn't going to let up anytime soon and we knew that it could only get worse up ahead in St. Cloud and beyond. We figured it was a great time to get to see some serious Minnesota back roads. Turning off at Royalton, we snaked our way through little towns like Foley, Crown, Zimmerman and St. Francis. Who knows if we actually cut off any time, but at least we could move along at 55-60 mph. All said, it took us about 4 1/2 hours to get home. Thanks for a very nice weekend. We enjoyed visiting with everyone, seeing Belize pictures, playing with cousins, and just generally hanging out like we do so well.

Dreaming of Tractors

More Tractors...

John Deere Pavillion

We took a little road trip to Moline, IL yesterday to visit the John Deere Pavillion. What a fun trip! Jevin was in tractor heaven and Enavi thought it was great, too. They had several different antique and new tractors in the pavillion and four different machines you could climb in to drive (of course we did all four several times!). The kids were great travelers (it was a 2 1/2 hour drive) and the weather even cooperated. It was raining when we arrived, but by the time we left, it had cleared up so we could go outside and see the other big machines.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Swimming, swimming in the swimming pool...

We decided to scale back our pool this year. The kids are loving our new purple pool. I think we have gotten our money's worth of fun just in the last two days. :)

Jevin likes to help fill up the pool.

Enavi is sporting her new Elmo swimsuit.

Jevin and Enavi like to splash!

Geology Museum

We took a trip to the Geology Museum on the UW campus. We had lots of fun looking at rocks, fossils, and dinosaurs as well as walking through cave-like tunnels. There was a lot to see and Jevin and Enavi both enjoyed our outing.

Jeremy giving a sea life demonstration

Jeremy was invited by teacher Vickie Pollard to talk about sea life and his hermit crab to her elementary students this week. He did a fine job and kept them interested for almost an hour before he had to leave and join his golf team for practice. Jeremy had a busy week with golf practice, his first golf meet and the opening of sucker spearing which is pictured above.

First canoe of the year by Jeremy

Jeremy was the first to canoe this year and is pictured above on April 20th. The ice actually left the lake on April 23 about noon.
